What a whirlwind!

And while there haven’t been enough hours in the day for a while now, I am still so pumped from this world premiere.   🙂

We returned home this past Monday from FIRST HAND WOMAN’s incredible debut in Montreal. I can’t remember a period of my life marked by such exhaustion and exhilaration.

The audience and press support at the festival was incredible. And I’m thrilled to announce that I won an award for the script!

My goals in creating this play were to find a way to reach out to the audience in order to bring them on a ride that would take them through a big emotional journey, and then to also hopefully uplift their spirits as the lights faded. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to the enthusiastic and expressive audiences in Montreal for going on this trek with us.

The first night, when people were laughing and crying with us, my heart was so full. The first time the ushers had to bring in extra chairs, I was beyond myself. And the time that we started having standing room “seats”, I was over the moon! A special thank you to our team.

But now I’m back to reality and I will be working on some FIRST HAND WOMAN funding proposals (fingers crossed) in the coming days. But before all that, it’s time to get some rest. Lol. Thank you everyone for your incredible support!

But before I take a power snooze, here’s where you come in. I want you to leave comments below, and tell me about the kinds of things that make you feel “over the moon”. They don’t have to be big. Could be as simple as a beautiful summer night. Share your delights! Xoxo

And as always…

Dream up,

Sarah Michelle Brown
